CHOC ORANGE COOKIES

2 3/4 cups plain flour
1 teaspoon bicarb soda
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup (226 gm) butter, room temperature
1 1/2 cups sugar
1 large egg,
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
zest of 2 large oranges
3 tablespoons orange juice
1 cup choc bits

Directions

Preheat oven to 350°F.
Line or grease baking tray

In a medium bowl, sift together the flour, baking soda, baking powder and salt. Set aside.

Using an electric mixer, cream together the butter and sugar until light and very fluffy; about; 4 minutes.

Beat in egg, vanilla extract, orange zest and juice.

Slowly incorporate the dry ingredients and choc bits into the butter and sugar mixture.

Roll dough into walnut sized balls. Place on prepared baking tray 12 to a tray.

Bake in preheated oven for 8-10 minutes, or until very nicely browned.

Allow cookies to cool on cookie sheet for a few minutes before removing to cool on wire racks.

drizzle with melted chocolate if liked.
