ORANGE POPPY SEED CAKE
2 whole oranges boiled for 1 hour
1 3/4 cups vegetable oil
6 eggs
2 cups sugar
3 cups s/r flour
2 tablespoons poppy seeds
preheat oven to 170
grease and line springform tin.
puree oranges... cool.
add oil, sugar and eggs. mix well.
add flour and poppy seeds. mix well.
bake approx 45 mins or till skewer comes out clean.
let sit 5 mins then tip hot syrup over cake.
syrup
1/2 cup sugar
2/3 cup orange juice
1/3 cup water
bring to boil on low heat stirring occassionally.
let boil for about 15 mins.
cool slightly
